Gauge
Light DK/8ply: approximately 19dc to 4 inches using a 4mm hook (after blocking)
Gauge for this design is not critical. Aim for a fabric that, once blocked to open up the filet net, is still compact enough that there is a clear distinction between the open and filled filet squares. Choose a hook suited to the yarn weight you have chosen, work up a swatch and stretch it out to see what it will look like when you block it. Then decide if the hook size is suitable. If your stitches are too loose, the filled filet squares will not appear solid enough and the floral motif may be lost.
