I LOVE being able to stash-dive when I have an idea for a new design. It would be such a bummer to have to drive to my Local Yarn Store (LYS) or wait for an online order to arrive when the creative juices begin to flow. Reading that last sentence makes me seem terribly impatient, doesn’t it? Don’t get me wrong, I love visiting my LYS and yarn shopping online. I just get so excited with a new idea that I want to start working on it immediately. So if you were to visit me right now, you would find a table, and perhaps a couple of chairs, covered with balls of yarn in little colour-coordinated piles. But I am still having a hard time settling on a colour combo. I just can’t choose.
It’s not like I don’t have plenty of options, I have more than enough yarn (just ask my husband!) Perhaps that’s the problem right there – too many choices. They all look so good! Oh, the struggle! The picture above is all the possible colour combos I can get out of my current fingering weight stash. Now I just have to pick one. Eenie, meenie, miney, mo???
Please tell me I am not the only one that finds it difficult to decide when combining colours. What’s your favourite combo? Do you find yourself gravitating towards a particular colour for every project, a colourway that you just can’t seem to resist? Or do you make them different each time? If you find it hard to choose, I feel your pain. The struggle is real, my friends.
Happy crocheting,
D
